C3i Science Day –
Novel approaches to study the immune-tissue interface

This year's C3i Science Day, entitled "Novel approaches to study the immune-tissue interface", was once again a day of exciting talks by young talents from the UKE research alliances and partner institutions.

The symposium was an ideal platform to bring together researchers from the UKE and the Hamburg metropolitan region to hear stimulating talks from the C3i research networks and to provide opportunities for further collaboration. We had fantastic talks on immune adaptation in intestinal inflammation, T cell function in the pathogenesis of autoimmune hepatitis, sex differences in infection and inflammation, organoid models in infection and signaling, pathways and networks in adipose tissue. An absolute highlight was the opening lecture given by our keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Oliver Pabst from the Institute of Molecular Medicine, Aachen, Germany, who presented on the shaping of lymphocyte repertoires in the gut. In the afternoon, young researchers had the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences in a poster session and a get-together.
