Prof. Dr. Tilman Brummer, Freiburg University (GER)

Tilman Brummer holds a professorship for Signal Transduction and Medical Cell Research at the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Cell Research, University of Freiburg. His lab focuses on intracellular signalling pathways and how their intricate regulation is disturbed in human diseases and is influenced by clinically relevant drugs. A focus of his work is on the Raf-kinase and its regulation, which makes him a renowned expert in kinase regulation.

Prof. Dr. Robert McCullumsmith, University of Toledo (USA)

Robert Smith is Professor and Chair, Department of Neurosciences and Psychiatry, College of Medicine & Life Sciences at the University of Toledo Medical Center and head of the Cognitive Disorders Research Laboratory. He is a board-certified psychiatrist and expert in in translational neuroscience. His lab uses functional kinome profiling and specializes in the application and development of various bioinformatics methods for the comprehensive analysis of kinomic data.

Prof. Dr. Christopher D. Willey, The University of Alabama (USA)

Christopher Willey is a radiation oncologist and the Associate Vice Chair of Translational Research at the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Alabama (UAB). His research is dedicated to the understanding of the abnormal signaling that governs cancer biology at the individual tumor level and then exploiting these processes for optimal treatment strategies. Prof. Willey is the director of UAB Kinome Core and with that an expert in functional kinome profiling with a strong background in analysing tumor samples.

Prof. Dr. Nikolas von Bubnoff, University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (GER)

Nikolas von Bubnoff Prof. is the director of the Clinic for Haematology and Oncology at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein. His research interests include oncogenic signaling pathways in therapy resistance and molecular oncology. In this context, he is committed to the further development of biomarkers as part of the personalized therapy. He was awarded the German Cancer Prize 2021 for his commitment to translational research.

Prof. Christian Peifer, University of Kiel (GER)

Christian Peifer is a Medicinal Chemist and heads a group working on design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of protein kinase inhibitors at the Institute of Pharmacy, University Kiel. Besides functional kinome analysis, his group has a focus on modifications of kinase inhibitors including photopharmacological applications.

Dr. Astrid Weiß, University of Gießen (GER)

Astrid Weiß is a research scientist at the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen and principal investigator at the German Center for Lung Research with the focus on lung diseases. By using functional kinome profiling Dr. Weiß and her colleagues identified cyclin dependent kinases to be involved in pulmonary arterial hypertension. Years of experience in functional kinome profiling make her an expert in this field.

Dr. G.M. Fuhler, Erasmus MC University Medical Center Rotterdam, the Netherlands

Dr Fuhler is Associate Professor at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Erasmus MC University Medical Center, where she works on kinase and phosphatase signalling in gastrointestinal cancer as well as the host-microbial interactions governing gastrointestinal disease. A medical biologist with specific interest in intracellular signalling, she has employed kinome profiling techniques in diverse experimental settings since 2009.

Sheraz Gul is Head of Drug Screening & Compound Repurposing group at the Fraunhofer ITMP. He has extensive insight in the pre-clinical drug discovery domain across the common therapeutic areas with particular focus on target validation, biological reagent design, assay development, screening, Hit validation and their progression to Lead and Clinical Candidate molecules.

Dr. Peter Nollau, former University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (GER)

Peter Nollau is a medical scientist with a focus on tyrosine kinases and signal transduction. Together with international colleagues, he established the SH2-profiling method in the field of kinase research. This method offers a direct way for the extensive detection of protein phosphorylation and is an excellent complementary tool to functional analyses of the human kinome.

Dr. C. Albers Leischner, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (GER)

Corinna Albers-Leischner is a medical scientist at the II. Medical Clinic and Polyclinic of the University Cancer Center Hamburg. Her research focuses on using the Ba/F3 mouse cell model to study cancer associated mutations in receptor tyrosine kinases. At the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), this system is being applied in personalized therapy, helping to predict how cancer patients will respond to kinase inhibitors.

Florian Bayer (LS Proteomik), Technical University of Munich (TUM, GER)

Florian Bayer is an expert in kinase inhibitor screening and kinase-substrate-relationships using mass spectrometric analyses from Prof. Bernhard Küster's Lab at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The Kuster Lab is outstanding in MS-based proteomics with a special interest in how drugs cause all their effects through the proteome at the target, signalling, and expression levels.

Malte Kriegs leads the Signal Transduction Group in Lab of Radiobiology at the University of Hamburg. He also heads the Kinomics Core Facility at the University Cancer Center Hamburg (UCCH). A special focus of his research is on the role of deregulated kinases in cancer cells and choosing of right inhibitors with the aim to use functional kinomics also for therapy prediction in precision oncology.
