Within the framework of the Outpatient Clinic for Oncology and Hematology in the UKE, we offer individual consultation sessions for patients with lung cancer. These include non-small-cell lung carcinoma and small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC, SCLC) as well as pleural mesothelioma. We conduct further examinations on patients with unclear masses or lesions in the lung (lung tumors), evaluation of symptoms, and initiate necessary diagnostics. To accomplish this, we work closely with specialists from the Department of Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, and Radiology. In our multidisciplinary tumor conference along with the specialists from Radiation Therapy, we define an individualized diagnostic and treatment plan. We coordinate the treatment of the following tumor diseases:

• Lung cancer (Bronchial carcinoma; NSCLC, SCLC)

• Pleural Tumors (Pleural mesothelioma)

The treatment is conducted together with the Department of General, Visceral, and Thoracic Surgery, Pulmonology Division, Department of Radiation Therapy, Radiooncology, Center for Radiology, and the University Cancer Center Hamburg (UCCH).

Treatment options for lung cancer at the UKE (NSCLC, SCLC) include:

• Operation (tumor removal )
• Radiation therapy
• Pharmacotherapy with targeted cancer therapy (e.g. Erlotinib, Gefitinib, Afatinib)
• Pharmacotherapy with chemotherapy (e.g. Cisplatin)
• Pharmacotherapy with immunotherapy (e.g. Nivolumab, Pembrolizumab)
• Participation in clinical trials
• Symptom-oriented therapy (BSC) and palliative care

Therapy options for pleural mesothelioma at the UKE include:

• Operation (tumor removal)
• Radiation therapy
• Chemotherapy
• Symptom-oriented therapy (BSC)
