Description
The Routine Data II research group works on research projects based on routinely collected data. For this purpose, either routine data from the statutory health insurance funds are analyzed separately or combined with primary data in the context of intervention studies (RCTs).
With the help of this data, various research projects are processed. The main focus is on the analysis of the health economic implications of potentially inadequate medication (PIM) in older people. Furthermore, the evaluation of interventions for the treatment of peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAD), cardiological diseases as well as anxiety and depression is carried out with regard to their effectiveness and cost effectiveness.
The typically large and comprehensive data enable the use of complex statistical methods. The retrospective cohort studies analyzed by the research group require a quasi-experimental study design that, in contrast to randomized controlled studies, requires extensive balancing to control the selection bias.
