Welcome to the English website of the Institute for Sex Research, Sexual Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry

The Institute for Sexual Research, Sexual Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry is the oldest and largest institution for sex research in German post-war history and one of the leading sexual science institutions in Europe. Our research activities range from clinical and health care research to social science research and basic experimental research. We provide classes for students of the iMed program in human medicine, the iMid program in midwifery and for elective students from other faculties.

In our specialized outpatient clinic for sexual health and transgender care as well as in our prevention outpatient clinic, we offer a range of mental and medical health care measures. Our forensic psychiatric expert service provides expert opinions on culpability and prognosis.
