Your Obesity Center at the University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf
Welcome to the Obesity Center,
The University Obesity Center offers treatment to those who are suffering from morbid obesity (Obesity is when a patient has a BMI of more than 35 kg/m²). We offer optimized and tailored treatments in a multi-step program.
The Center, located at the University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf, is one of four clinics in Germany to have been deemed a certificated center of excellence by the German Society for General and Visceral Surgery (DGAV in German) and is also the only university center of excellence. The center was awarded with the highest grade of excellence (Grade 3).
The foundation of our work at the Obesity Center is our so-called interdisciplinary multimodal concept. The tightly networked team of interdisciplinary specialists offers “round the clock” courses of treatment for Obesity using state-of-the-art treatments of the highest level to provide tailored treatment concepts for each patient. This also includes extensive conservative treatments if necessary and, if requested, operative procedures and long-term aftercare are also available.
