Forschung in der Palliativmedizin

Durch wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen und Projekte soll dazu beigetragen werden, die Versorgung zukünftiger Patienten und ihrer Angehörigen weiter zu verbessern.

Unsere Schwerpunkte in der Forschung liegen dabei in der Behandlung körperlicher Symptome, der psychischen Belastung von Patienten und ihren Angehörigen, der Optimierung von Versorgungsstrukturen und in der Untersuchung des Stellenwerts nicht-medizinischer Betreuungsangebote, wie Physio-, Musik- und Kunsttherapie.

Im Rahmen der Stiftungsprofessur mit Schwerpunkt Angehörigenforschung untersuchen wir systematisch die Rolle der Angehörigen in der Palliativversorgung sowie die daraus entstehenden Anliegen, Belastungen und Bedürfnisse. Die Erkenntnisse aus der Angehörigenforschung helfen dabei, die Situation von Angehörigen noch besser zu verstehen und bestehende Unterstützungsangebote zu verbessern oder neue Angebote zu entwickeln.

In unsere wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen beziehen wir auch die Patienten und ihre Angehörigen ein, beispielsweise durch Befragungen mit Fragebögen oder in persönlichen Interviews.

Wir freuen uns über die große Bereitschaft aller, sich an unserer Forschung zu beteiligen. Denn ohne die Informationen und Empfindungen von den Betroffenen selbst würde eine wichtige Perspektive fehlen.

Von besonderer Bedeutung ist für uns auch im wissenschaftlichen Bereich die multiprofessionelle Zusammenarbeit von Ärzten, Pflegekräften, Psychoonkologen und Therapeuten. So gelingt es, verschiedene Blickwinkel und damit verbundene Fragestellungen zu integrieren - das bereichert! Es bestehen unter anderem Kooperationen mit der Klinik für Anästhesiologie und dem Institut für Medizinische Psychologie sowie ein Kooperationsnetz mit anderen ambulanten und stationären palliativmedizinischen Versorgungsstrukturen in Hamburg und eine nationale Vernetzung in verschiedenen Arbeitsgruppen.
