Welcome to the PhD Students Class of 2024 at the Hamburg School of Infection & Immunity

We are pleased to welcome the PhD students of the Class of 2024 to the Hamburg School of Infection & Immunity. This year, 12 students from Germany, Cyprus, China, and India have joined our School, bringing a range of research interests and expertise to the program. 36 students are currently enrolled in the HSII.

The Kick-Off event on November 19 provided an opportunity for each student to introduce themselves and share their research topics. We also welcomed Prof. Dr. Daniel Engel, Chairman of the Department of Immunodynamics at the Medical Research Centre, University Hospital Essen, as a guest lecturer.

We look forward to supporting this group of students as they begin their doctoral studies and contribute to the ongoing work at the School!

2nd HSII Symposium/HCTI Pre-Opening Symposium "From Students, for Students"

Location: HCTI - Hamburg Center for Translational Immunology (N25), Seminar Room Ground Floor

The second symposium by the Hamburg School for Infection an Immunit was organized by the HSII-PhD students around the topics of infection, immunity, and inflammation.

This year the symposium coincided with the opening symposium for the Hamburg Center for Translational Immunology (HCTI) . The theme for this year was: Rising Stars and New Methods.

Young international speakers came to Hamburg to share their new and interesting work.

15th - 16th November 2023

1st HSII/HCTI Symposium "Latest Trends in Infection and Immunity"

The Symposium took place on November 15 and 16, 2023 at abaton Cinema in Hamburg. The event was organized by the first-year PhD Students enrolled in the Hamburg School of Infection and Immunity (HSII), affiliated with the Hamburg Center for Translational Immunology (HCTI) and kindly sponsored by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Stiftung .

During the two-days symposium, 90 PhD students and researcher gathered together to discuss several topics in the reseach fields of immunology, immunity and autoimmunity.
